Elliott will serve as the new president of the Gua-tama- la LDS Mission. The Elliotts are the parents of three married children and the youngest two boys are attending Ell- Brigham Young University. is the son of Walter S. and Erlene Bray Elliott. Mrs. Elliott is the daughter of Wesley B. and Wanda Wood Williams. Elliott retired last week as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marines, where he has served for 28 years. He has his bachelors degree from the University of Utah and his masters degree from Central Michigan. While serving in the military he has been stationed all over the world, including two front line tours of duty in Viet Nam. He has served in various church positions including as Elders Quorum president, bishop, branch president, counselor in the stake presidency, district president and recently as a high counselor. Mrs. Elliott has taught in various church auxiliaries, has been Young Womans president, ward primary president, and counselor in the ward and stake relief society presidencies. The Elliotts arrived this week from Kansas where they hae been stationed. Since they grew up in this area, graduated from Davis High and have many friends they would like to see before entering the mission home, two separate open houses will be held in their honor. Friends and relatives are invited to contact the couples parents for details. The Elliotts will be speaking Sunday, June 10, at the Farmington 4th Wards sacrament meeting, 5:30 p.m., 200 E. 700 S. iott Library Will FARMINGTON Although there wont be any hard rock or country western selections, the Davis County Library Board has approved the purchase of cassette tapes for circulation. County library director Jeanne Layton said the library will purforchase mainly eign language cassettes and classical musical selections.
