The Davis County Sheriffs Department is presently under contract providing this service. Kaysville Police Chief Lyle Larkins presented a bid stating what it would cost to hire manpower to cover Fruit Heights. Fruit Heights City Administrator Craig Hughes said that a record of the cost in comparison with PAUL D. WAGAMAN the county fee is on file. I think it was the League of Cities study that said if cities shared services we could save money, explained Dean Brand, mayor of Fruit Heights. We share fire protection anJ thought we could share police protection. The bid from Kaysville was substanially higher than tfiat of the county, he said. According, to Captain K.D.. Simpson of the Davis County sheriffs office, the county puts in two to three times as much time in Fruit Heights as was specified in the contract. Wagaman, an electronic . engi- neer at Sperry MDTS in Salt Lake City, has served on a town a PTA president, council,-achairman of a community development program .and has coached in youth baseball programs in other communities. He and his wife Shirley moved their family to Kaysville 20 years ago and both have donated many years to community service. Wagaman has served as president of the Davis County Young Republicans, as coach and chairman in the Kaysville youth baseball program and on various advisory committees to Kaysville City government.
