Mrs. Sylvia McBride Hamblin was born April 27, 1908, in Cache County, The daughter of H. Odeah and Floradell Obray McBride, she attended school in Cache and Box Elder Counties. She was married April 8, 1926, to Ervin M. Hamblin in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Her husband died Nov. 22, 1969. Mr. and Mrs. Hamblin lived in Clearfield where their home was built in 1926, and where Mrs. Hamblin still lives today. She has lived in the Clearfield 1st and 2nd LDS Ward for 57 Hy-ru- , SYLVIA M. It took me two years to decide to let myself be nominated as Young Mother of the Year, said Mrs. Ford. Consequently there is no room in the diet for empty calorie foods. Snack foods, rich desserts and fatty foods are some that pro-- . vide too little nutrition and high amounts of calories, she said. According to Mrs. Day a good diet should consist of a variety from the four food groups and include three to four cups of milk a day, two double servings of meat and one to two eggs, servings of dark green or orange vegetables, servings of foods vitamin C and five servings of bread per day. Mrs. Day noted that even at that an average woman should gain only 24 to 28 pounds during pregnancy with most of that coming during the final three months. Thus there is a need to avoid empty calorie foods. Women should never lose weight during a pregnancy even if they are overweight, she said.
