Show 6C Lakeside Review North, Wednesday, Mar. 30, 1983 Nome E?y 'Iydetu Fomeillisfl Hllis nn uDO ROY Audrey Zehnpfenning of Roy High School, has been selected as a national finalist in the Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student offer, and is now competing for national scholarship awards ranging in value from $1,100 for one academic year to $5,000 for each of four academic years, $20,000. Miss Zehnpfenning qualified by first being selected to represent Roy Elks Lodge No. 2338 in state judging and then being selected by the Utah Elks Association as a national finalist representing Utah. The Utah Elks Association also awarded a one year scholarship of $500 to Thomas E. Clarke III, of Clearfield High School, in the state contest. The Roy Elks Lodge will make additional scholarship 9:30 to 9 WEEKDAYS SATURDAY 9 to 7 SUNDAY 10 to 6 . , AUDREY ZEHNPFENNING Her community service in- and special achievement cludes appointment to the awards ranging up to $200 to Roy, Clearfield, and Layton High School students participating in the Elks Scholarship Awards program. Zehnpfenning of Roy, and attends Roy High School, ranking number one in her senior' students. She maintains a straight A average, highlighted by completing 32 semester hours in math, English, language and science and five semesters in electives since the ninth grade. She is in the 99th percentile in class of 410 National College Entrance testing. She is a leader in her school, -church and community. She is president of the National Honor Society at Roy High, their Literary Magazine editor, is in the school House of Representatives and advanced placement student representative to the Weber County School Board. Youth Advisory Committee to the Roy City Council and an elective office while attending American Legion Girls State. Audrey holds membership in Junior Achievement, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the Candy Stripers of North Davis Community Hospital, and the Youth Caring and Sharing Organization. This grade point average was achieved while completing 29 semesters of study in math, English, foreign languages, and science; and eight semesters in elective subjects. Nationally he ranks in the 99th percentile on REELS! test results. He was Youth Chairman of the BYU Youth Conference, member of the Clearfield Seminary Council, U.S. Chess Federation Club director, Boy Scout senior patrol leader and has been recognized by the mayor of West Point City for project leadership and contribution to the community.
