Show Sunset Halts New Sign Construction Youngsters 'Reading' At Library Books are important to children, even those youngsters who are too young to read. The Weber County Southwest Branch Library recognizes that fact and sponsors a weekly program for preschoolers to help them gain an interest in books. Each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. a group of children ages 3, 4 and 5 who do not attend school gather at the library to hear stories and participate in activities related to the story subjects. Music, animals, nature and holidays provide some of the subjects for preschool programs. Brenda Wilson, childrens librarian at the branch library, says registration for the program is limited, and children have been signed up for this falls sessions. The report was prepared by a committee formed to explore the Utah Department of Transportations proposal to build a sound barrier across Avalon Drive in conjunction with an interchange for Interstate 15 at Antelope Drive. The sound barrier, a wall over 10 feet high, would begin at 1690 West and extend along the south right-of- way of Antelope Drive to the point where the freeway entrance ramp merges into the interstate. Its purpose is to keep road noise from bothering Camelot subdivision residents. Residents in the area appear to be divided on the issue of closing Avalon Drive.
