Council member Robert Flinders, who is now acting as a liaison between the planning commission and the city council, said that he felt like an honest effort had been made to come up with a win-wi- n situation, but one never materialized. Flinders stressed that it is essential that the council members support, to the best of their ability, the city ordinances. Council member Brent Stauffer agreed. From what I can see that has gone on in this city in the last 25 or 30 years that Ive been here, theres been a lot of things wrong, and theres been a lot of ordinances that have not been upheld, Stauffer said. We cant go back on that. All w can do is go from today, said Staufffer. Hopefully we make the right decision and try to live up to the ordinances that we have on the books. During the eight weeks of training, the soldiers will study the Army mission and will receive instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, army history and traditions, and special training in human relations. Baird is the son of Arlund D. Baird of Sunset. Air Force Airman Chrystell W. Perry has graduated from basic military training at Lack-lan- d Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and customs and received special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who com plete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air force. Perry is the daughter of Raymond G. and Susan J. Williams of Clearfield. The airman is a 1994 graduate of Clearfield High School, and a 1997 graduate of Utah State University Logan. Joe C. Ramos of Clearfield, son of Delores Ramos, recently enlisted in the United States Navys delayed entry program. Ramos is a 1997 graduate of Gering High School. Following basic training in Great Lakes, 111., Ramos will receive training in the Navys seaman program. Enlisting in the delayed entry program gives young men and women still in high school a chance to earn their diploma, waiting up to a year before re- porting for active duty. They may also be guaranteed a jobin one of more than 60 exciting career fields and earn up to $30,000 for college if qualified.- - S Nathan E. Kadeger of Logan, son of Louann and Fred Kroc-ge- r, recently enlisted in the United States Navys delayed entry program. Kadeger is.,a 1994 graduate of Clearfield High School.
