KARRAS Staff Writer LAYTON Teza Stott is a florist, but the bouquets she sells are different from your average bunch of roses or carnations. They dont wilt or cause hay fever. But on the other hand, they dont sit nicely on your coffee table either. Mrs. Stott sells bouquets of balloons the helium-fille- d type that tend to float to the ceiling and stay there. Since all the business requires is a helium tank and boxes of balloons, Mrs. Stott can conduct it at home, with the help of her two preschool children. She lives in Layton and takes orders for balloon floral arrangements on her home Mrs. Stotts mother has a phone, similar business in. St. George, and her ' sister operates a balloon floral business in Salt Lake City. We moved to Layton from California, Mrs. Stott said. Balloon selling was quite a big business there, and when we found out there werent any here, we decided to try it. Since the business opened in September, it has been steadily growing with only a little local advertising. On Valentines Day, Mrs. Stott and her family were busy from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., arranging balloons and delivering them throughout the area. We get all ages and types of people ordering the balloons, she said.- People ;send them to their friends, husbands or we even sell black wives, and bosses balloons if you want to send them to someone you dont like. Mrs. Stott said probably 95 percent of the balloons ordeed are a surprise to the recipient. Mrs. Stotts Balloon Floral also provides balloons for parades, school functions and other group activities. When she delivers the balloon bouquets, Mrs. Stott wears a clown costume, complete with makeup. She plans to add a black top hat and tails to give customers a choice, of delivery costumes.
