That meant that the Vikings had to start building their team all over again. This past weekend when the Utah beat the Arizona in basketball for the fourth time a big question was posed to the selection committee. All-Sta- rs All-Sta- rs WAS THIS indeed The majority of players on this years team are up from the junior varsity club that placed fourth in an eight team league a year ago. The Vikings are also a young team with only three seniors on the team. Twelve juniors and a couple of sophomores all see action in this years varsity the Utah best or was it just an All-Stteam from the Salt Lake area? The reason this question came up was the absence of one of the top scorers in Utah this past season. Ken Jones of the 1A Milford school averaged over 30 points a game this year but was not on the club which is supposed to be the best in the state. ORGANIZERS say the reason is two fold. Number one the kids coach didnt nominate him and secondly they didnt want the kid to miss that much school. As for the first reason the coach should be shot but then too so should the selection committee. After a rocky start they found themselves in the finals against Highland. For the Braves to win the crown they would have to beat the Rams twice, a fete no one gave them much hope of doing. Bountiful did win that first game but were narrowly defeated in the second contest to finish the year with a second place trophy.
