STEVE EGAN, a Layton High School art instructor, challenged his students to create logos for the county library logo contest that was held last month. Feeling he shouldn't ask his students to do something he didn't follow through on himself, the Kaysville resident decided to follow suit. That action led him to first place in the contest that drew 75 entrants from all age groups Davis County Library logo winner Steve Egan, left, displays his rendering of an open book capped by the owl.
