Show WEEKLY REFLEX DAVIS NEWS JOURNAL, AUGUST 9, 1979 20 Year Old Man Dies From Injuries Funeral services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary Chapel for Brian David Kiefner, 20 year old, of 344 Edith Street, Salt Lake City, formerly of Kaysville, who died July 27, 1979 of injuries received in an accident near Park City. HE WAS born Feb. 3, 1959 in Covina, Calif., a son of Richard and Joan Kiefner. He was a carpenter. Brian graduated from Elder Marion Hanks To yisit Homes Creek Stake auto-pedestri- IN SCOUTING, Elder Hanks serves as a member of National Executive Board, as chairman of the the National Properties Committee, and as a member of the Business and Finance Committee of the Boy Scouts of America. He has been awarded the Silver Beaver, the Silver Antelope, the Order of the Arrow, and in 1973 was presented the first honorary award of the National Eagle Scout Association "in recognition of his distinguished service to scouting. Dorothy Day Dies At Age 77 Dorothy Kent Collins Day, 77 of 1558 W. Gentile, Layton, died Monday, July 30, 1979 at her home. SHE WAS born May 16, 1902 in Ogden, a daughter of Richard James and Christina Galt Collins. On Jan. 15, 1928 she was married to Joseph Y. Day in Layton. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died July 15 1955. MRS. DAY was an active member of the Layton Second LDS Ward and had held various church positions. Surviving is a son, Kent C. Day, Albuquerque, New PAST president of Salt Lake City Rotary Club, he was District Governor of Rotary for ELDER HANKS r , " President K. Hanks will visit the stake ,1L t; "during stake conference scheduled for Aug. 11 and 12. Ralph Dibble; Davis High School in 1977. He had been freshman class president. He was active in sports, playing varsity football and performed in the' Davis High School production of Oklahoma. He participated in Kaysville Little League Football and baseball programs. HE WAS bom Feb. 5, 1920 in Ypsilanti, Mich., a son of Mahlon Lewis and Bertha Isobel Damoth Martin. He married Mitzy Namiko Wakugawa in Naha, Okinawa. SURVIVING are his parents of ElDorado Hills, Calif., one brother and one .sister, Kevin Kiefner, Salt Lake City; Leslie Kiefner, Sunnyvale, Calif.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Willers, Sr., Fremont, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Kiefner, Baltimore, Md.; two uncles, aunts, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Willers, Jr., Bountiful and Donald Kiefner, Baltimore, MR. MARTIN retired from the U.S. Air Force after 27 years of service. He also retired from Hill Air Force Base where he worked as an ammunitions superintendent. He was educated in Michigan. WHILE serving in the Air Force, Mr. Martin was stationed in Korea, Okinawa, Vietnam, Thailand, Morocco and Hawaii. He had lived in Layton since 1968. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. Md. Reverend Don Proctor of the Bountiful Community Church officiated at the ser vices. Louise Coleman was the organist. A vocal solo by Bob Snow, "Searchin For A Rainbow followed by Old Testament and New Testament Lessons. Bob Snow presented Theres A Light.! This was followed by personal remarks and pastoral prayer and benediction. PALLBEARERS were Kevin Muir, Sam Ortega, Don Miner, Dave Swindel, Mark Boyce and Joe Laurella. Interment was in the Kaysville-Layton Memorial Park, np HE WAS a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3198 of Layton. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 8307 and had served as junior vice commander. Surviving are his widow of Layton; two sons and two daughters, David B. Martin, Michael A. Martin and Cindy A. Martin, all of Layton; Debbie H. Martin, Ogden. Raymond S. Yeaman, 81, of RFD Kaysville, died July 30, 1979, in a Salt Lake City hospital following a long illness. Former Layton resident, Virginia Evans Richards, 63, died July 31, 1979 at her home in Salt Lake City.
