THURGOOD was born in Syracuse, Aug. 22, 1899, a son of Thomas J. and Elizabeth Stoker Thurgood, who were early settlers in the area. He was married to Neva Harris on June 14, 1922 in thei Salt Lake LDS Temple. He owned and operated a farm in Syracuse and was employed for 11 years by the J.C. Penney Company in Ogden. He was employed for 14 years by the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot as manager of clothing warehouses and then moved to Hill AFB where he worked until he retired in 1962. Mrs. Ron Perkins and children arrived from Minnesota on Thursday to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Perkins and their family while en route to Alaska to their home. Mrs. Perkins and children Aspen and Erin accompanied a, Minn., where they spent the past year while he worked on his masters degree. He received his masters in public health service and they are now returning to Billingham, Alaska where he will work with the Eskimo people. Ron and his family have previously spent three years in Alaska before coming to the states to complete his masters degree.
