Show Legion Auxiliary Elects New Officers The annual election of officers of the Cedar City unit of the A-merican A-merican Legion Auxiliary was held Friday evening, with Mrs. Lula Allen chosen as President, succeeding succeed-ing Mrs. Idona Smith, who has served or the past year. Other officers elected were: Mrs. Annie McDonough, 1st Vice President; Presi-dent; Mrs. Minnie Sherratt, 2nd. Vice President; Mrs. Erma Jones, Secretary; Mrs. Annie Esplin, Chaplain; Chap-lain; Mrs. Aline Leigh, Sergeanl-at-Arms; Mrs. Gwen Corry, Color Bearer. Retiring officers besides Mrs. Smith include the following: Mrs. villa Arns, 1st Vice President; Mrs. Pauline Hunter, 2nd. Vice-President; Vice-President; Mrs. Pearl Edwaras, Secretary; Mrs. Althea Brown. Chaplain; Mrs. Erma Jones, Ser-geant-at-Arms; Mrs. Lula Allen, Historian. In addition to the election, the winning essays in the recent Americanism Amer-icanism program at Uie schools of Cedar City were read. The winners in the high school division were Virginia Beasley, Alice Roberts, and Dorothy Thorley, and in the Junior high school, Mary Qraff, Marie Petersen, and Lois House. War stamp prizes were awarded the essay winners. |
