Show 9 Parowan Missionary Dies In Kansas Gordon Mitchell, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Scott Mitchell of Parowan, Paro-wan, died at Atchison, Kansas Sunday, having been stricken ill while serving in the Central States L. D. S. Mission. The young man died from the effects of Influenza, complicated by rheumatism and heart disease. Although he had been ill for several days, his condition condi-tion was not considered serious until a few minutes before hi? death. ' His body arrived in Parowan yesterday yes-terday and funeral services are being be-ing held today. The deceased was born in Parowan Paro-wan July 8, 1919, a son of Mr. Mitchell and Bertha Whitney Mitchell. Besides his parents, he Is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alice M. Haycock of Provo and Mrs. Veda M. Adams of Parowan, and two brothers, Kent Mitchell of Camp Lewis. Wash., and Merton Mitchell of Parowan. He was educated in the public schools of Parowan and attended Branch Agricultural college at Cedar City for one year before leaving on his mission November 16, 1940. |
