Show Prominent Beaver Man Dies In Cedar Seth William Smith. 79 of Beaver, father of Mrs. Wm. Melltng of Cedar Ce-dar City, died Thursday night In the Iron county hospital following an operation earlier in the week in which his leg was amputated. He :ad been 111 about 10 days ilh hardening of the arteries. A lifelong resident of Beaver, Mr. Smith had engaged extensively in farming and stock raising, and was an active church member. He was born In Beiver on March 31, 1866, a son of Richard and Tabltha Hol-royd Hol-royd Smith, LDS converts from England. He married Ida Lund of Paragonah, an later, after her death, he married Emma Robinson of Par-agonah. Par-agonah. j Besides his widow he Is survived by two sons and a daughter, Reed ' and AToert Smith of Beaver, and i Mrs. Thelma Melling of Cedar City. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, three sbttrs, and a brother, Mrs. Saddie Thayne and" Mrs. Mae Branch of Price, Mrs Martha Thayne of Salt Lake City, and John Smith of Wellington. Funeral services cre held Monday Mon-day afternoon in the Beaver LDS East Ward chapel, with Bishop Andrew J. Terry presiding. Burial was in the Mountain View ceme- tery. |
