Show WEDDDING VOWS were exchanged by Garlen W. Mitchell,, Mitch-ell,, Escalante, and Ruth Marie Bauer, Cedar City, on July 18. Reception honored couple at Escalante same evening. Cedar Girl, Escalante Man Marry The St. George Temple was the scene July 18, of the marriage of Ruth Marie Bauer and Garlan William Mitchell. President Harold Har-old S. Snow performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaVand Bauer of Cedar City. She Is a graduate of Cedar City High School. The bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Mitchell of Escalante, Escal-ante, Utah. Vi has attended CSU for two yean and has filled a two-year missnn in the Western States for the LDS church. A reception was given In their honor July 22 at the L D S Institute Insti-tute of Religion In Cedar City. The bride chose embroidered nylon ny-lon organza and net for her wedding wed-ding gown. She carried a bridal bouquet of white gladiolus and pink carnations. Miss Janine Bauer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a dress of pink embntlder-ed embntlder-ed taffeta and nylon net. Bridesmaids Brides-maids were: Linda King. Shirley Heap and Kathleen Marsh. Bridal Bri-dal attendants carried glamellia nosegays. Best man was Theron Mitchell, brother of the bridegroom. Ushers Ush-ers were Robert Beatty, Carlyle Shurtz and Fred Stelnfels. At the bride's book was Bob-ette Bob-ette Bauer. Gift bearers were Daniel LaVand Bauer and Marilyn Mari-lyn Shurtat. Leila Whatcott and Ramona Munford were In charge of the gift room assisted by flirty flir-ty Joe Bauer and Dlenne Beatty. Appropriate background music was played by Deanna Durrant and Gall Crawford. In charge of the kitchen was Brittanla Durrant assisted by Evelyn Heap, Kathryn Applegate, and Hester Rollins. Co-hosteses were LaRine Brad-shaw. Brad-shaw. Retha Shurtz, and Thelma Marsh. Those serving were Deanna Dean-na Lyman, Creorgla Rasmussen, Jeanette Gordon and Barbara Thompson. Open house honoring the new-lyweds new-lyweds was Riven by the parents of the bridegroom at the Escalante Escal-ante South Ward recreation hall on July 23. A short program was given with Theron Mitchell acting act-ing as master of ceremonies. The numbers on the program were: prelude organ music by Janine Bauer, reading by Lillian Coleman, Cole-man, organ solo by Janine Bauer, piano and accordion duet by Jimmie Peterson and Wesley Baker, reading by Fay Alvey. vocal vo-cal duet by Sandra Porter and Geraldine Llsfon, accompanied by Janet Spencer, vocal aol by by Janet Spencer, vocal solo by Dancing followed the program and refreshments were served. The young couple spent their honeymoon at Fish Lake and Es-calante. Es-calante. Garlan left for the Arm-ed Arm-ed Services July 28. Ruth Marie plans to attend CSU this fall. |
