Show Cedar City Couple Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Peter Shurtz celebrated cele-brated their golden wedding anniversary an-niversary lost Thursday with a family reunion and dinner at their home. Their six children, 24 grandchildren grand-children and 3 great-grandchildren were all present at the celebration. Both Mr. and Mrs. Shurtz arc well known in Cedar City where they have resided for several years and where they have taken an active ac-tive part In L. D. S. church work. Mr. Shurtz was born In Kanarra on March 1, 1867, while Mrs. Shurtz, who, before her marriage, was Harriet Har-riet Moody, was born in Pangultch on July 18, 1871. The couple were married in the Mantl L. D. S. temple tem-ple on November 12, 1891. Soon after their marriage they were called on a 10-year mission to Wyoming by the church, and the couple spent 20 years there before returning to Utah. Of the nine children born to them, six are still living as follows fol-lows i Mrs. Lester Spencer of Es-oalante, Es-oalante, Mrs. John W. Anderson and Mrs. O. P. .Williams of Cedar City, Frelen and LaVar Shurtz of Delta and Victor Shurtz of Salt Lake City. |
