Show Illness Claims Life Of Erastus L. Jones i.. . V. , ERASTUS L. JONES Erastus L. Jones, 67, a lifelong life-long resident of Cedar City, died Sunday, July 1 at the Iron County Coun-ty hospital of Internal hemmor-haging. hemmor-haging. Funeral services will be held at the Cedar Stake House Thursday, Thurs-day, July 5, at 2 p. m. Mr. Jones spent his entire life in Cedar City in the livestock and farming business. He at one time was a member of the Lions Club and of the BPOE Lodge No. 1556. He also served as commander com-mander of the American Legion Post and was active in affairs of the Woolgrowers Association and other livestock interests. He was a veteran of World War I, and saw much ove'eas action. He was borr. In Oear City December De-cember 3 1894, u soi cf !.rhl W. and hcuietta Lunt Jones. He married Martha Laurena Lang-ford Lang-ford in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Tem-ple June 20, 1917. Mrs. Jones died December 1, 1958. He is survived by five children, child-ren, York F., Larry and Mrs. Frank J. (Laurena) Adams, all of Cedar City; E. Quinn, Corona, Calif., and Mrs. Max J. (Made-Ion) (Made-Ion) Payne, South Gate, Calif. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters: Kumen L., Henry Hen-ry L., Lehi M., William L., and Ann J. Gardner, all of Cedar City; and Mrs. Fred (Henrietta) Hintze, Salt Lake City. Seventeen grandchildren also survive him. |
