Show . Funeral Rites Held in Honor- OfMrs.LeoraWard Funeral services for Mrs. Le-ora Le-ora Ward, 44. wife of Parker M. Ward of Salt Lake City, were held Monday at 2 p. m. in the Parowan Third Ward chapel under un-der the direction of the Second Ward bishopric with Bishop George F. Rowley conducting. Mrs. Ward died early Thurs-i Thurs-i day morning at the home of her husband's parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Ward, where she has been cared for during the past several weeks. Cancer was the cause of her death. Speakers at the services were . Bishop R. Taylor Miller of the Parowan First Ward, and Bishop Norman Martin of the Webster Ward in Salt Lake City. Bishop Martin was accompanied here by a large group of Mrs. Ward's coworkers co-workers in the ward and stake .primary associations. The prayer at the Ward home prior to the services was given by David A. Matheson. The opening open-ing prayer was by Woodrow Decker, the closing one by A. C. Hatch and Joseph El Ward dedicated dedi-cated the grave in the Parowan City cemetery. A male quartet composed of Gordon Whitney, Heber Gurr, Karl and Harold Mitchell sang "Oh My Father" as the opening number with Itha Mortensen ac companying. Other musical num. bers were a vocal solo, "In the Garden." by Mary O. Topham ac-companled ac-companled by Berta Winters, and an organ solo by Glenn Pratt of Salt Lake City, who played a medley of hymns. Mr. Pratt was also at the organ for prelude and postlude music. Thelma Leora Jorgensen Ward was born Oct 20. 1911 at Peoa, Summit County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Jorgenson. She was married to Parker M. Ward of Parowan on Aug. 20. 1936 in the Salt Lake L D S temple. They resided In Paro-,w.n Paro-,w.n until 1948 when the tarn-ly tarn-ly moved to Salt Lake City-She City-She was a member of the weo-ster weo-ster Ward of the Park Stake, and was a member of the Park Stake Primary Board at the time of her death. Prior to becoming a stake worker, she had been president of the Webster Ward Primary As-soclation. As-soclation. . . Survivors are her husband, one son and three daughters: Joe. Marilyn. Laura and Katn. rvn. all of Salt Lake City: Her father of Peoa. and the following follow-ing brothers and sisters: Pearl J. Blazzard. Genevieve J. Davics. Anstrus J. Erlckson and Norman Jorgenson. Salt Lake City; Milo and LaVar Jorgensen, Peoa. |
