Show Funeral Services Held Friday for Evan E. Williams Impressive funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Cedar City L. D. S. First Ward chapel for Evan Edward Williams, prominant southern Utah livestock man and active civic worker, who succumbed to a heart attack at the family home' on Tuesday, June 10. Speakers at the services which were under the direction of Bishop George Grimshaw of the First Ward, included William R. Palmer, H. II. Lunt, Charles R. Hunter and R. J. Shay. Musical numbers Included two songs, "I Know That My Redeemer Re-deemer Lives" and "Lead Me Gently Gent-ly Home", by a mixed quartet consisting con-sisting of Mrs. Annette Betensen, Mrs. Sarah A.' Wood, Ray Cosslett and Miles Walker, accompanied by Mrs. Bernella Jones; a violin solo, "A Perfect Day" by Roy L. Hal-versen; Hal-versen; and a vocal solo, "Absent" by Chauncey Macfarlane, who was accompanied by Mrs. Beth Leigh. The opening prayer was offered by William B. Adams, while Lehi M. Jones pronounced the benediction. benedic-tion. Following the funeral memorial graveside services were conducted by the officers of the Cedar City Lodge No. 1556 of the B. P. O. Elks, after which the grave was dedicated dedicat-ed by Herbert W. Webster. |
