Show Last Rites Held At First Ward For C. John Smith Funeral services were held Friday Fri-day afternoon for C. John Smith. 78, who died in Cedar City on Tuesday, following a lengthy illness. ill-ness. Bishop H. P. Dotson presided at the services which were held in the First ward chapel. The opening prayer was given by Clinton Milne, while the speakers were Mrs. Ivan Decker, Parowan; Harry Lunt and John Watson. Remarks were heard from Bishop Dotson. Musical numbers included: a vocal quartet composed of Miss Alice Williams, Miss Mamie Eck, Myles Walker and Ray Cosslett, singing "My Father Knows" and "That Beautiful Land"; a violin duet composed of Miss Marian rwkor and Mrs. June Thorlov. played "A Perfect Day", and a vocal solo, "Rest, Rest for the Weary Soul", by Myles Walker. Accompanist was Mrs. Beth Leigh. The benediction was offered by Lanell Lunt, while Ray Smith dedicated the grave. |
