Show American Legion Birthday to Be Observed by Parowan Post No. 20 ,becn purchased and has boon in the process of remodeling ' and renovation for the past j several years as a Post project. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the American Legion and its Auxiliary the officers of Parowan Post No. 20 and the Auxiliary are making mak-ing plans for the observance of this day, next Monday, Nov. 11, a day now designated as Veteran's Day, to include veterans of other wars. This announcement is made by Post Commander Sam Pritch-ard Pritch-ard and Auxiliary President, Mrs. Fredrika Clinch. The first event of the day will be a special program on Monday, at 11 a. m. in the High School auditorium, at which veterans of all wars will be honored. The program is being arranged by the assembly as-sembly committee of the high school headed by Richard Adams, assisted by Mr. Robert Rob-ert Potter and Mrs. Lollin D. Orton, faculty advisors to the committee, and they issue a special invitation to the public pub-lic to attend. The program, in honoring veterans of all wars in which the United States has participated, parti-cipated, will feature memorable memora-ble experiences in American History, that have had a part in making America great and had an important part in preserving our freedom. The music department of the high school will have an important part on the program. i In the evening beginning at 7 o'clock the Legion and Auxiliary are staging a public pub-lic dinner, which will be a fund raising event for more improvements at the Legion Hall, where the dinner will be held. This will be a turkey dinner din-ner with all the trimmings, with a charge of $2.50 a plate being made. Serving will begin be-gin at 7 and will continue until everyone has been served, serv-ed, and the organizations guarantee plenty of food for everyone. Also a good pro-' gram is being prepared for presentation during the evening. eve-ning. Those who attend are asked to bring their own eating eat-ing utensils. To help those in charge of preparing the dinner they ask that advance reservations be made by calling Evan Bayles !at 477-3375. Mr. Bayles states that ticket sale as of Tuesday Tues-day night had reached 100. The dinner is being held to raise funds to put a new roof on the Legion Hall, which has |
