It's jiut about as ridiculous ns J I it sounds. To start with, there is not a range sold by n catalog house that is one-third as good as the jH ? Great Majestic ? M J Malleable and Charcoal Iron Ronrfe. ' and we arc right here on the ground to prove it, if you will call and give us a M 1 Suppose you ordered one of the ranges from a catalog house, the best you fl i would get is a Cast Iron and Steel Rniitfc, ruide of the cheapest material that $ H 4 can be bought for that purpose. It is bo'.trd together because you can't rivet t M $ cast iron. The cracks and cornets arc filled with stove putty. It will do what 5 M J you might consider good work for six months or maybe a year at any rate until you have paid for it. What happens then? Expansion and contraction i work the bolts loose the putty falls out cold air gets into the range you Jj arc compelled to use a lot of fuel and keep your range red-hot to get the oven t hot enough to bakc. This constant heat burns out the fire-box you need new J $ partsyour range is out of commission for two or three weeks, probably a J month, while you arc getting new parts. You must pay good money for these H parts, because you need them. You must pay the express charges too. Then H J when you finally get the parts you find the fire box so warped out of shape H t from the intense heat that it takes a mechanic to replace them more expense 5 Finally you get the range going again. You find things you bake in the oven H ' arc always full of ashes and soot, and on examining the oven you find large t H openings where the putty has fallen out. You can't get some one from the jH J catalog house to cornc and put in more putty, so you must ask your local man H 5 to help you out more expense. In a little while you find a hole has rusted 5 H or burned through the thin steel body. Get the tinner to put a patch over the H hole more expense. Just about this time you begin to realize you have an H expensive range, and either throw it out or wait a few weeks longer until it H falls to pieces. H ; Now, just luppose you ordered A GREAT MAJESTIC RANGE from J H i us. To begin with you pay a little more money than you did for that catalog H house range, but you get the best that is made. MALLEABLE IRON 1 AND CHARCOAL IRON IS EVERYTHING IN A RANGE. It J can't break doesn't rust all joints are riveted together perfectly air tight. J J No stove putty. No cold air enters the range and no hot air escapes. It J M won't use half the fuel, as all the heat stays in the range, where it should be. $ You arc not compelled to burn out the range to get the oven hot enough to 5 $ bake. You don't constantly spend money for repairs, because there is noth- ing that can break or get out of fix. H J To be sure, we make a profit on that range. Dcn't wc deserve it? We j are looking after your interest, why shouldn't you pay us a reasonable profit if M it pay; you to do it? H To whom do you pay the profit when you buy from a catalog house? i Why most assuredly to the catalog house. They don't know you, consequent- 5 ly don't care what happens after they have their money. They don't make J the range they sell; they do the same as we do buy from the manufacturers. The only difference is, they buy the cheapest they can get and sell. for all they j can get; while wc buy the best and are satisfied with a reasonable profit, de- J pending on the future for more sales. H Give this matter a careful thought and if you are not satisfied with this argu- H t ment put your catalog house catalog under your arm and come and see us; i show us what they will do for you and we will show you where we can do better.
