Show I : HELENA 1 ' Bishop Erondell's Return. i (Correspondence Intermountain Catholic (Helena. Mont., May 14. According to I he latest advices received by Rev. I Father Day, Bishop Brondel has left for his Montana home. The bishop f "f had been invited to attend the cere mony of bestowing the pallium upon Archbishop Christie at Portland, Ore., but cannot possibly arrive in time. It is expec ted that the bishop will bring with him the bones of the Saint of , whom he wrote several months ago. There are but few such relics in the United States, and the Bishop said that I be believed that the authorities in i Rome would bestow one on the Mon- l . tana diocese, as a Special mark of fa vor. Bishop Brondel has written since that he had been promised the bones of St. Leo. a 1 2-year-old martyr, who ' died for his religion in one of the early persecutions of the Church, and whose bones have been resting in the Cata-; Cata-; combs for centuries. The skeleton will be encased in wax to conform as nearly near-ly as possible to the outlines of the ' youthful martyr's body, and the figure will be preserved in a case which will rest under the altar of the Cathedral. ; A very quiet wedding took place at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on , Tuesday morning. May 8, the contract ing parties being John C. Whaley of Townsend and Miss Lucy Hines of San Diego, Cal.. Father Aken officiating on if the occasion. They will make their home at Townsend. where Mr. Whaley :i has business interests. The members of the A. O. H. gave j j another of their delightful social 1 dances last week at College hall. A good sized crowd was present, and all spent a most enjoyable evening. The , women's auxiliary to A. O. H. contem plate giving a dance on the evening of the 22nd. I |
