The Retail Clerks' Association gave a very elegant ball on Thursday night. ! The members spared no pains to make the ball a great success, and they were successful. The committee appointed to arrange for the entertainment of the Literary Society, which will be given pter Easter, will meet on Sunday at the Church after the 11 o'clock Mass. The members of the Children's choir are very faithful in attending the Lenten Len-ten services at St. Mary's., The little ones will give for their rgular annual entertainment in June a very ' pretty cantata. The choir at St. Mary's is working on the Easter music. The "Kvrie," by Lambillotte, "Gloria," by Dachauer. the "Credo." "Sanctus" and "Agnus Dei," by Gans. will be the programme for this year. Chairman Joseph Goghegan of the St. Patrick's Day committee is quite the busiest man In the city this week. Under Un-der his able direction, the lecture on the 17th will unquestionably be a pronounced pro-nounced success. C. S. Murphy of Diamondville, Wyo., who was in town during the week, was the recepient of many hearty congratulations con-gratulations on the arrival of a little son, which happy event occurred in Salt Lake on Wednesday. A meeting was held on Tuesday evening even-ing by the returned soldiers who sV-rved in the Philippines, to organize a society which will be called the Utah Society of the Army of the Philippines. The object of the society is to continue the friendships formed during the campaign cam-paign in the Philippines. Mrs. Edward McGurrin will probably be one of the harpists at the Theatre on Saturday night. Mrs. McGurrin formerly for-merly known as Miss Katie Trumbo is too well known in alt Lake as an accomplished harpist and pianist to need any further comment. She is also a former pupil of St. Mary's academy. Mrs. Richard Keenan of Kemmerer, Wyo.. who will assist at the concert on Saturday, is a harpist of decided ability. abil-ity. She was married last fall to Mr. Richard Ke-enan of Kemmerer. On Monday last Miss Rose Hulaniski of Ogden and Mr. H. C. Wrood of Spencer, Spen-cer, Ida,, were united in marriage by Rev. Father Cushnahan. Mrs. Wood is a charming young lady of Ogden and a graduate of the Sacred Heart Academy. Acad-emy. Mr. Wood is a prominent young business man of Idaho and a former student of All Hallows. WTilliam McDermott of the Tarbet mining syndicate left for California on Wednesday last. Mr. McDermott will have the management of the Afterthought After-thought mine, in Shasta county..
