'' their publish - niNINQ STOCK REVIEW The week just ended showed a slight Improvement in stocks, but the market is still flat, with prices, in most instances, down among the lower levels. Notwithstanding everyone admits it is a good time to buy for a rise, the buyers do not materialize. Offerings, however, are also limited, holders declining to sell on such a market; otherwise the slump in values would have been more serious. The rehabilitated Mining and Stock Exchange will resume business in new quarters on Commercial street next Saturday, and a stronger and more active market will undoubtedly result. Some changes in the official roster were made necessary by the resignation of President Donnellan and the adoption s, of new and the following officers have been elected: President, E. H. Airis; first M. S. E. Pendergast; second E. Crooks; secretary, W. E. Vigus; board of governors, George F. Downey, Frank Knox, E. G. Woolley, C. E. Hudson. The new president of the exchange is one of the heaviest mining operators in the city, and he is a gentleman who commands the confidence and esteem of all the members. The most active brokers are included among the new officials, and their selection cannot fail to infuse new life and a keener interest in exchange affairs. As a result of the reorganization, some prominent brokers who have not heretofore become identified with the organization now announce their intention of joining, and all who are interested in. the promotion of investments In mining stocks will henceforth work in harmony for a common purpose. Some of the brokers report considerable activity in Ajax during the week, and sales are said to have been made at 77 i??80. Offerings of Anchor were limited. The stock sold down to $1.35 last week, but $1.50 has since been bid. Daly continues dead, but Daly-We- st is one of the few stocks that holds its own and actually shows an advance on the week. Unlisted Stocks- The most active of the unlisted stocks closed about as follows: Lark continues in light Eagle and East Golden Gate remain at about last weeks figures, and both offer opportunities for speculation. Four Aces is still on the shelf. Galena sold during the week at $2.05, a slight advance over the previous week, and Geyser is wanted at about Dalton & de-ma- nd. . cents, with holders demanding higher figures.
