"We need to ask the right questions," he said. "Can we do it differently?" Reno talked about the quality of being able to change and compared it favorably to another premium quality — that of leadership. "If you are not willing to be a leader, an advocate, a zealot of change, you're probably going to fall behind other leaders because our Air Force organizations are going to have to depend on people who can lead change," he said. Reno reviewed the Air BY MARY Lou GORNY Hilltop Times editor L t. Gen. Loren Reno, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters, answered questions and reviewed Air Force priorities during a Wasatch Warrior talk at Club Hill on Sept. 14 to a group of logisticians. The Logistics Officers Association meeting set the forum for Reno to briefly answer some of the concerns of the logistics leaders about the challenges faced by the Air Force. "We need to think about the changes that we are doing and do them well," said • • • • • 50% of 3490 Parker Drive, Riverdale Just off I-15's 31st Street Exit out Hill Air Force Base was an active participant in addressing those concerns. He pointed out the need for not necessarily "owning" the traditional ways of doing things and the need for teamwork in addressing the needs of the war-fighter. The general also pointed out there is a difference between checking on the welfare of Airmen and their families and caring for Airmen and their families. The IVR system is a speech-enabled call routing system allowing callers to speak the name of the individual or organization they wish to contact. IVR provides improved call recognition technology previously unavailable for a more reliable, user-friendly caller experience. Upon dialing the Base Operator number, 801-777-1110, a caller will hear several menu options to search the directory for a specific individual or organization, complete a morale call or set up a conference call. IVR gives callers three attempts per call to find the requested person or or- ganization. Upon successful voice recognition, IVR will automatically connect the caller to the requested destination. Between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m., unsuccessful attempts will be routed to an operator for assistance. Unsuccessful attempts after duty hours will result in a message that operator assistance is unavailable and to call back 5 a.m.-10 p.m. Seeking a specific individual, callers can speak first and last name, or first name-middle initial-last name, or the full military rank and last name. When searching for organizations, callers must speak the full organizational name such as, "75th Air Base Wing administrator." Service organizations can be located by their common name. The cutover to the new IVR should be seamless. However, if you encounter any problems with the new IVR system, please contact the First Response Service Center at 777-586-8324.
