Thursday, March 10, 12:30 p.m., in the Chapel Annex — "Interviewing Skills" with Denise Elbert, avionics maintenance technician and curriculum developer for aircraft maintainers. Elbert is also a Wingman Advocate and a dedicated member with several community service organizations. Tuesday, March 15, 9 a.m., in the Base Theater — "How to Pet a Porcupine – Dealing with Difficult People" with Linda Larsen, member of the Central Training Office and President of Adopt a Ghost, a nonprofit organization which supports military members serving in Afghanistan. March 17, 9 a.m., Building 1279 Room 1 — "Stress Reduction and Work" with Linda Larsen. March 17, 12:30 p.m., Building 1279 Room 1 — "Dressing for Successful Interviews Through Our Ages" with Frank Bernel and Gerry Anderson, PowerTalk presenters. Anderson is International Chairwoman and liaison serving for the Life Member and Member-at-Large Committee. A&FRC reduces services Wednesdays The Airman and Family Readiness Center will be conducting training and administrative processing every Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Building 150 will remain open with reduced services/assistance available. Please plan accordingly. 75th LRS Mobility hours to change The 75th LRS Mobility Section will change its customer service hours to 7 a.m. -11 a.m., Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays beginning March 14. Weapons Vault customer service is by appointment only. For immediate Air Force same-day administrative discharge, pre-separation and 24 hours short notice deployments, please contact customer service for assistance at (801) 777-2374. Hill 5/6 Bowling fundraiser The Hill 5/6, the junior noncommissioned professional organization, is raising money for the costs of the technical sergeant promotion social in June. A bowling fundraiser will be March 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hill Bowling Center. The price is $10 per person and includes shoe rental and three games of bowling. Among other things, the NCO professional group provides information to assist NCOs with their (and their Airmen's) professional, deliberate development. The event is free and open to the public. The museum chapel will be renamed the "Col. Nathan H. Mazer Memorial Chapel," in honor of retired Col. Nathan Mazer who made significant contributions to the museum, the chapel and Hill Air Force Base, prior to his passing in 2006. Patrick Meighan, grandson of Col. Mazer, will commence the event with introductory remarks. Don Hickman, 75th MDG Commander, during a recent interview with the medical group leadership. On his mind were the impending completion of the Clinic renovation project, the status of Hill AFB's "Medical Home," wellness of Team Hill's family, and an update on influenza vaccines for those interested in combating the effects of the continuing influenza season. The men arrived in Cairo on Jan. 19 to begin a 24-day evaluation of damaged aircraft at three Egyptian air bases. Seven days into their trip, the Egyptian capital erupted in what CNN called "an unprecedented display of anti-government rage," with as many as 20,000 protesters taking part. Through it all, the Airmen — See EGYPT I page 7 I page 4 Air Force News Service S AN ANTONIO — Officials are extending the opportunity to participate in the 2011 Air Force Community Assessment through April 3. More than 350,000 active-duty members, Reservists and spouses as well as all appropriated fund civilian employees were randomly selected to participate in the anonymous survey. See AFCA I page 6 Director of Communications joins Hill after post at Pentagon BY MARY Lou GORNY Hilltop Times editor B arton Clements has become the newest director of the 75th Air Base Wing Cornmunications Directorate and has assumed the role of Deputy Chief Information Officer for the Ogden Air Logistics Center. Clements previously served at the Pentagon as 844th Communi- cations Squadron executive director. As he settles into his post Clements reports he is trying to meet all his communications people in all the many places they work. He wants to familiarize himself with what they do and the hurdles they must overcome. "I'm finding it exhilarating," he said. "The fast-paced tempo of Hill Air Force Base is exciting, and I'm looking forward to working with Col. Patrick Higby, (75th Air Base Wing commander) and the other wing commanders in figuring out how to meet the demands." When asked about his goals, the La Grande, Ore., native cited superior customer service as the No. 1 goal for the 75th Communications Directorate, or SC.
