Show HILLTOP TIMES Show your Team Hill spirit by submitting your pin design 4 tmEs November 4, 2010 BY CINDY GIBBS Chief, Human Resource Management Office T he Hill Air Force Base Spirit Award Committee is soliciting designs for the 2011 Hill AFB Spirit Award Pin. The pin will be approximately 1 inch in size and can be one or more colors. Your input should include a full size image of your design as well as a smaller version to give the committee a realistic view of the actual pin size. Submissions must be your original artwork and cannot infringe on any copyright laws. The purpose of the award is to allow employees to recognize their peers for their contributions to the team and to their country. Entering the contest gives the Hill community the opportunity to show their patriotism and support not only to the mission but to the team. It is an opportunity to reflect what our consolidated mission means to the individual. Many of the entries received over the past years have been merely sketches. Judging is accomplished based on the spirit and intent, not on the beauty. There are employees we can get to help us evolve the basic design or sketch into a pin. The design should represent Hill A FB a personal Spirit interpretation of the Hill AFB mission and be inspiration towards the patriotism we all share. Please e-mail your proposed design to Teresa.dutcher@ hill.af.mil as a PowerPoint presentation or as a JPEG image. If you do not have access to e-mail, you may mail it on plain bond paper and include a disk to: Teresa Dutcher Aerospace Sustainment Directorate OO-ALC/GHOM Bldg. 1234, Room 7 6042 Fir Ave. HAFB, UT 84056-5816 All submissions are due no later than Wednesday, Nov. 18. New deadline for MILDEBE &a1111,42 WIMOONE 774-0770 The Hilltop Times, 777-4557 CFC now Nov. 24 ill Air Force Base has extended its Comined Federal Campaign deadline to ov. 24 because of the Operational Readiness Inspection and exercises held in preparation prior to the ORI. These activities have made it more challenging for the Key Workers to complete their outreach efforts. Several organizations have already completed their efforts to contact every worker within their reach. Many more are just getting started, however, due to the aforementioned activities to prove Hill AFB is ready for any contingency. Melinda Schmidt, CFC chairwoman, reports several activities have been held to support the effort. "There have been barbecues, bowling events and breakfasts," she said. "The 748th Supply Chain Management Group is collecting books for a book sale to be held near the end of the campaign. Proceeds will go to CFC and leftover books will be donated to the Airman's Attic." Schmidt reports efforts by volunteers and donors really have the spirit of giving this year. "They are working hard to make this year's campaign a success," she said. The message of this year's theme, "Imagine the Good You Can Do," has fostered a lot of creativity and motivation to do for others in need, said Schmidt. A volunteer appreciation breakfast is being planned for Dec. 10 at Club Hill. More details will be released as they are forthcoming. 2112 N.
