The supervisor replied, "It seems to me these absentee reports don't make much difference. Just how iiillli: important are they?" In order to answer that ques tion, the clockhouse man promptly called the Leave Records unit, asked if any absences had been re corded for the particular supervis or who had asked the question. Four absences had been recorded and charged to annual leave. The clockhouse employe' asked the supervisor if he had been ab sent, and received an emphatic negntlvn answer. Further investigation snowed that the aupervlsor had been marked "annual leave" because ne woa taken irreffular days off. and his name had not been carried on the absentee reports for these four . days. Because someone hadn t beiievea that the Absentee Report waa im portant, the supervisor had lost four days of annual leave. Rulon B.
