TO OOE SISTER CITY COriUMlULATiOSS In the second interstate band contest which has just come to a successful conclusion in our sister city of Price, that city's chamber of commerce, with the assistance of its city residents, has ac-- 1 complished something which is deseiving of highest praise Those who of this vicinity witnessed the band contest, its parades and competitions, and there were many thousands, all feel that it was one of the cleanest and finest types of competition evei sponsored. The enterprise of that city in furnishing benches for spectators, the sale of refreshments and commodities at regular prices, manner in which everything was carried out can bring the clean-cu- t otily highest commendx.tion from all who attended. As the programs appropriately informed, it was "not to win a prize or defeat an opponent, but to pace each other on the road to excellence." The band members were a clean cut type of young men and women who aroused the admiration and piaise of all and, inciden-tally, gave the judges a severe task to perform in deciding which of all such snlendid entrants was entitled to special recojrnltion, We congratulate the city of Price on its achievement. tuu-- j aic department announces summer course in band work as; follows: First sis weeks course, starting the first week of Mar and to con-- j tiuue for six weeks, at a cost iu each student of $2.S0.
