Show County Budget Is Set at $120,466 The Sanpete County commissioners, commission-ers, George E. Cook, John Gunder-son Gunder-son and Junius Metcalf, fixed the I annual budget Monday for 1929, for Sanpete county at $120,466.10. This amount is to be raised for county purposes on an assessed valuation of slightly less than $14,000.00, says the Manti Messenger. Joseph Matson, of Mt. Pleasant, P. P. Dyreng, Alex Barton, Howard Madson and Jacob Keller of Manti, of the Utah Taxpayers' association, were present and went over the budget with the commissioners. No protests were entered. The budget calls for the following I expenditures during 1929: County I general fund: Sheriff's office, $8222.-! 50; recorder's office, $4922.50; treas- j urer's office, $8728.10; clerk's office, ?7U2.50; assessor's office, $6077.50;! attorney, $1997; surveyor, $875; com-i missioners, $2467; county criminal prosecutions, $1200; agricultural agent, $1500; courthouse and grounds, $2000; board of prisoner's, $800, quarantine quar-antine and healtih, $900; civil jurors, $1000; bee inspection, $200; insane, $200; audit of accounts, $1000; fuel and lights, $550; telephone, $615; jury commissioners, $30; transitory herds, $30; appropriations, $1000; election, $300; refund of fees, $50; court reporter's fees, $400; juvenile court expenses, $120; making a total of $51,152.10. County poor fund: Poor and indigent, in-digent, $3600; county infirmary and farm maintenance, $2500; salary of superintendent of county infirmary, $1800; miscellaneous, $285, totalling $8185. Public road fund: Construction and maintenance of roads, $30,811; interest and redemption of road bonds, $18,400; construction of state roads, $7210. Countjy fair expenses, $1453. |
