Mr. Duffin succeeded in plaoing one of his inetruments with the Washington sohool. In the hands of Mr. Thompson, who has the teaching of musio in charge, the piano will 6erve excellent use in the school and will be a desirable auxiliary in the preparation and presentation of entertainments iu contemplation by the school under Professor Thompson's Thomp-son's direction. A contract con-tract was in course of preparation In accordance with terms that Davis should lay all sub-mains and do the neoessasy plumbing to attaoh service into the houses at a stipulated price per day, to be paid by the city.
