Show MURDERER OF WOMAN HANGED. Fred Seward Goes to the Gallows and Meets Death Bravely. Boise, Idaho. Fred Seward was hanged in the Idaho penitentiary at S o'clock Friday morning for the murder mur-der of Clara O'Neal, a woman of the under world, 'at Moscow, in October, 1908. Seward met death bravely. His only words on the gallows were to the executioners. "Do a good job, boys," he said just before the cap was pulled over his head. His neck was broken by the fall. Seward slept during the night and ate a heart.y breakfaet. As he was marched down the corridor from his cell the prisoners prison-ers bade him farewell, to which he responded: "Good-bye, boys, God bless you." Seward embraced religion relig-ion a short time ago. and the pastor of the First Presbyterian church accompanied ac-companied him to the gallows. . Seward's crime was one of premed' itated murder. Angered because Clara O'Neal, with' whom he was infatuated, in-fatuated, would not quit the life she was leading, he went to her apartments, apart-ments, and. holding her with one hand by the neck, shot her dead. He then made an unsuccessful attempt to commit suicide. He was convicted in December and sentenced to be hanged hang-ed in February, but was twice reprieved. repriev-ed.
