Show S 0 oil i I 1 C conservation 0 n s e r v a t ia n news by kenneth williams work on the brisco wash siphon is still progressing the siphon pipes are all laid in place only the cement work remains to be done the spring like weather is enczur aging lots of farmers to begin soil conservation projects early this ye ar the call for S C S engineering services has reached a new high we have work scheduled well into february this year more than ever before it is going to be necessary tor for farmers to plan ahead if they expect to get S C S assistance the canel companies of this area are an extensive conservation en gi works for 1956 in green river the brisco siphon will be completed this spring sand pats patos will be engineered also at the brisco wash and at jess powells have requested engineering services to install a new pump the canal conal op cip has r re quested engineering se eq far q a large foot storage res at huntington reservoir will be used to tp store winter water fer irrigation the next summer the cleveland canal near hunt ington also ha has a structure to install similar to the brisco wash job here in green river this again will require a large amount of S C S en on gme ering time I 1 I 1 so once again if you plan to ask for any S C S help this spring let us know now then we will try to work up a schedule to get all of the u work ork done supervisors meeting was held on thursday january 12 at the new I 1 city hall chairman delbert tid well boyd hunt frances wilson and donald hatch were present on the i district board dee christensen and I 1 were there from the S C S richard bedier was named as an irrigation advisory committe for the soil conservation district richard win will be asked to replace joe aller who is leaving green river an education commit tee was named to assist the soil cen con district francis wilson was named chairman with lee aled hill and gene davis as members this committee committees s first job will be to review possible methods of getting the district soil conservation pro gram into the local school |
