S. Census Bureau comes to the state to check up the compilation of vital statistics, to determine whether Utah is entitled to recognition as a birth registration state. Such recognition is a distinction to be highly prized as only a very few states have as yet received it. In checking the records an exhaustive investigation will be made by the Federal agent to discover unreported births. Local Registrars are urged to use every available means to learn of births which may have occurred and have not been reported. It is suggested that the local newspapers , give the matter as much publicity as possible that every birth is reported as required by law.
