Show Mrs. Thompson's Funeral. The funeral of Mrs. Jennie Thompson, widow of the late Dr. Thompson, who died in Lob Angeles An-geles last week, took place at the residence of U . - Ijnffl Mr. Henry W. Lawrence on Sunday lust and was attended by a multitude of the old friends of file Ijjj? deceased. A great profusion of rare flowers were Si heaped upon and around the casket. Dean Brewster of St. Paul's Episcopal church read the HI . beautiful service of that church. A quartette HI sang very sweetly "Lead Kindly Light" and j "Abide With Mo," and the remains were laid at rest in Mount Olivet beside those of her husband ill Mrs. Thompson was a resident of this city m most , of the time for the past thirty-eight years, 1 jjj a gifted and accomplished lady, in her youth an i exceedingly beau .ul woman, and she wore her Ijjjr years with wonderful grace. It is understood fjjjf that she loft her largo fortune to Berkley (Cal.) h " University for the benefit of the young men and women of Utah. ; HI She was a California girl of the old days and jl was married to Dr. Thompson In Mariposa coun-ty, coun-ty, California, in about 18G0. They were rosl-dents rosl-dents of Carson City, Nevada, some ten years lllll before removing to this city. |
