Evans Mrs. Melvin, as the old maid, and Mrs. Boyd as the widow were excruciatingly funny, and in fact all of the characters were well sustained. Mrs. Melvin's song, "When You and I Were Young," and Sam Park's "Miss Brown" were great hits, rendered very humorously. Mr. Harrison's Har-rison's "My Name Ain't Captain Kidd" was another an-other catchy song. "Scenes That Are Brightest," a beautiful song rendered with fine effect by Misq Olive Jennings was the prettiest song ot theevening, and Tiighly appreciated by the large audience. Edna Dwyer was also heard to her liest advantage. ad-vantage. The entertainment was a great success. |
