In his statement to the secret service ser-vice men, Fong denied that his action was tho result of a conspiracy to kill the prince. Ho said that tho organization organiza-tion to which ho belongs, while revolutionary revo-lutionary in its tendencies, Is in no way responsible for his attempt to slay tho emperor's uncle. Tho prisoner pris-oner shouldered all responsibility, declaring de-claring himself a revolutionist and an enemy of tho present dynasty in China. Fong expressed regret that he had not accomplished his purpose, saying that ho wanted to bo a martyr to the causo to which he had consecrated his life, and that he wanted to awaken his countrymen. |
