Show Escalante News By Marlene Haws 826-4859 The sprinklers are still going in the fields, but maybe not for long. The culinary water is still holding up, with a little help from the well, and Lincoln Lyman Construction will soon begin construction on a new water line on the mountain. Now, if we can just get some rain we may be able to survive the summer after all. Of course they just put a new roof on at the bank, so that may have removed any possibility pos-sibility of rain. Darn! Ricky Dodds, son of Emmorn Dodds and Janet Kraft, was married in Meeker, Colo, to Kimberly Savage on June 15. Attending the ceremony from here were grandparents grandpar-ents Arden and MaeVonn Taylor, great-grandparents Arlis and Melba Brooks, Jimmy and Ethel Taylor and Heath Spencer. Marjie Spencer went to Palmyra, N.Y. to attend the high school graduation of her grandson, Justin, who is the son of Lee Spencer. Angie Alvey and Janalee Bernardo took the high school volleyball vol-leyball team to Enterprise for a tournament. Nine girls participated including Lisa Rollins, Shondelle Cottam, Nicole Cottam, Brittany Butler, Tempe Butler, Heather Spencer, Corrine Venuti, Jessica Henry and Tatiana Jones. They stayed in St. George a night or two. Marlene Haws and Geraldine Liston took their parents, Starns and Fon Mecham, to St. George for doctor appointments. They called Hal and Geneal Shurtz, who came to the mall for ice cream and visiting. visit-ing. Hal had taken Geneal to Salt Lake to see Phantom of the Opera and they are still planning to come home for their family reunion on the fourth of July. The Smiths met in Henrieville for two family reunions. Jed and Garneal Smith, Doren and Lorie Smith met with their family one day then joined with all the other Smiths (a group of over two hundred) hun-dred) the next day. Other relatives attending from here were Carrie Griffin, Nellie Bailey, Flora Leibenguth, Barbara Jaggar, Brett Reynolds, Jim Smith and Riley Smith. Nellie Bailey is now the oldest of the Smith cousins. I guess that makes her the matriarch? Anyway they honored her for being the oldest one there. Sons of Bobby and Elnora Pratt, Reno, Nev., visited with Parley and Leda Pratt and Francis and Barbara Imlay. Shannon Pratt lives in Reno and Roland Pratt, Seattle, Wash. Eddie Evans, son of Warren and Linda Haycock, was baptized on Saturday by his uncle John Imlay and confirmed by Gary Liles.
