Show -ij "I i Howard and Nedra Johnson Howard And Nedra Johnson Celebrate 50th Anniversary PANGUITCH The children of Howard and Nedra Johnson will hold an Open House in honor of their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, June 24 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the home of Ncdra's brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Wilma Goodman at 509 Ridge Lane in Payson, Utah. Howard and Nedra were married April 16, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had been good friends ever since they met at age 14 in Tucson, Ariz., playing in a summer band. A few months after their wedding, Howard was discharged from the Army Air Corps. They settled in Southern California where they raised three children. Nedra became PTA president, presi-dent, Girl Scout leader and world's best storyteller. Children from all over came to the house to make crafts with Nedra. Howard worked in aerospace industry. He was a Boy Scout leader for both his sons. He was involved in the Northrop Gem and Mineral Club and always included the family in the field trips to go rock hunting. This began a life long passion for lapidary work and resulted in the purchase of their rock shop in Bear Valley in southern Utah. Their work is skilled and beautiful. Their home is a refuge for travelers. All their lives they have touched many people through quiet, thoughtful acts of selfless service. Family and friends are welcome and encouraged to participate in this open house to honor this special couple. The Johnsons are the parents of three children, two sons and a daughter, Howard "Ward" and Diane Johnson of Salt Lake City, Mark and Bettyann Johnson of Flagstaff, Ariz, and Karan and Joe Price of Hillsboro, Ore. They also have 18 grandchildren. |
