Show Worthens To Note Golden Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Vee Worthen will mark their golden wedding anniversary anniver-sary this week. They were married 50 years ago on Nov. 3, 1938, at the Manti LDS Temple. The family will celebrate the event at a later date. Mr. Worthen drove a freight truck for five years, and a Continental bus from Salt Lake City to Flagstaff, Ariz., for 15 years. His wife, Adele, worked as a rate clerk for the freight lines for five years, and, after moving to Panguitch, was employed with Family Life Services for 19 years and at the local hospital for three years. He has been a long time mem- ber of the Lions Club and she has been a member of the Lady Lions. Mr. Worthen served a two-year mission for the LDS church in the Eastern and New England states. He also served in the Panguitch South Ward bishopric for seven years. The Worthens have owned and operated the Conoco station in Panguitch for some 35 years. They have a son, David Worthen, in Salt Lake City and a daughter, Jan, deceased. They also reared two grandchildren, Mike Dalton, Panguitch, and Tod Crofts, Salt Lake City. They have nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. |
