Show Arthur Partridge PANGUITCH Arthur Partridge, Par-tridge, 91 of Panguitch, passed away, Sept. 17, 2001 in Panguitch. He was born Nov. 4, 1909 in Panguitch Pan-guitch to John Thomas and Maria Wesson Partridge. He married Mary Owens on July 9, 1930 in the Manti LDS Temple and she preceded pre-ceded him in death on June 7, 1999. Art grew up in Panguitch, helping help-ing on the family and neighboring farms and attending school. After his marriage, he and Mary began family life in Panguitch. Their first child died at only two years old. He worked on construction, farming and as a ditch rider until 1941 when the war effort needed workers so he, Mary and two children chil-dren moved to California where he worked in the Naval Shipyards at San Pedro. At the end of the war they returned re-turned to Panguitch where he purchased pur-chased a truck and added trucking to his occupations of farming and ranching. He was appreciative of the many people and friends he acquired ac-quired on his route from Salina to Los Angeles while hauling and trading livestock. He was a natural horseman and handled horses with ease. After turning the ranch and farm over to his sons, he started a new, vocation of training race horses. He was a licensed trainer in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Arizona and California and developed devel-oped winning horses in all those states and Utah. During his last few years when walking became difficult diffi-cult for him, he would always ride his horse to drive the cattle to and from the ranges, pausing occasionally occasion-ally to visit with family and friends. Art had a special way with children, chil-dren, whenever he was in a room i i ; Art Partridge full of people, the children always seemed to migrate towards him and wanted to be with him. As a member of the LDS Church, he served in Sundav School, MIA, welfare projects and as a Bishops counselor. He is survived by sons, Alan (Jane) Partridge of Richfield, Merlin (Lida) Partridge of Bountiful, Paul (Mona) Partridge of Panguitch, Kenneth Greg (Lesli) Partridge of Mesa, Ariz.; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. He is- preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Vernece and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the Panguitch 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 400 East 240 North in Panguitch. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Panguitch on Saturday Satur-day morning from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery. Funeral directors: Neal S.
