Show Zola Cox Jolley ST. GEORGE Zola Cox Jolley, Jol-ley, 92, passed away June 15, 1999 :of pneumonia at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. She :was born Sept. 8, 1906 in Or-'derville, Or-'derville, a daughter of William 'Mills and Eliza Olive Allen Cox. She married Clive A. Jolley on .Dec. 18, 1929 in the St. George LDS Temple. He died Nov. 19, : 1974. Zola was an active member of the LDS Church. She fulfilled a mission to Oakland, Calif, in 1978, and worked in the Provo and St. George Temples for many years. She played in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers band for 10 years. Zola came to St. George in 1985. She loved music and made hundreds of quilts that she shared with family and friends. She is survived by four children: Clerece (Don) Neil of Salt Lake City, C. LaMar Jolley of Pan-guitch, Pan-guitch, Velma (Blaine) Petersen of St. George and Thelma (Jack) Beighley of American Fork; 15 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; grandchil-dren; 19 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Alan Cox, of Or-derville; Or-derville; three sisters: Wilma Beal of Leeds, Lucy Crofts of Orderville and Iris Reese of Mapleton. Funeral services for Violet Adair Littlefield were held Saturday, June 19 at the Panguitch LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Evan Boshell officiating. Prelude and postlude music was . provided by Pam Yardley . A family prayer was offered by Max . Hodson, a son-in-law, followed fol-lowed by the invocation by Jon Torgerson. The Panguitch 4th LDS Ward Choir sang "Where Can I Turn For Peace", accompanied by Pam Yard-ley Yard-ley and directed by Neucile Yardley. Tributes were given by daughters daugh-ters Christine Littlefield and Renone Hodson. Speakers were son Neil A. Littlefield Lit-tlefield and R. Kay Littlefield. Remarks by Bishop Evan Boshell were followed by a musical ESCALANTE Edwin Beryl Shurtz, 84, of Escalante, Utah, died peacefully June 16, 1999, at his home in Escalante. He was born Feb. 8, 1915, in Escalante. He was the eldest son of Edwin Ray and Mary Alexie Roundy Shurtz. He married his sweetheart Retha Wil-cock, Wil-cock, June 3, 1936, in the St. George LDS Temple. She preceded him in death Feb. 19, 1985. Beryl attended BAC and BYU. He owned and operated Shurtz Plumbing since 1936, installing the first indoor plumbing in Escalante. Esca-lante. For over half a century his friendly smile and his pickup truck were familiar to many. Beryl was a devoted cattleman who loved the Escalante country and made many friends. He loved his family and enjoyed entertaining and dancing. He is survived by his children, Beryl Carlyle (Barbara) Shurtz, Sandy; Marilyn (Thomas) Jackson, Escalante; brother, Doyle Park (LoRee) Shurtz, Bountiful; sisters, Vivian (Steve) Collard, Bountiful; Betty (Blake) Schow, Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife; parents; daughter, Cleo; brother, Chase Shurtz. Graveside services were held ... Funeral services were held Saturday, Sat-urday, June 19, 1999 at Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, in St. George. Interment was in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary. Violet Adair Littlefield selection "I Need Thee Every Hour" by the Panguitch 4th Ward Choir. The benediction was offered by John W. Yardley. Pallbearers were Dave Creager, Jeff Kotarski, Wayne Littlefield, Raymond Brinkerhoff, Ferrell Brinkerhoff and Danny Brinkerhoff. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Ewing, Wade Littlefield, Mark Littlefield, Lit-tlefield, Eric Littlefield, Alan Hodson, Hod-son, Curtis Hodson, Kevin Butler and Clive Dawkins. Interment was in the Tropic Cemetery. The dedication of the grave was given by R. Kay Littlefield, Little-field, a son. Compassionate services were provided by Panguitch 1st and Tropic Ward Relief Societies. Funeral directors: Neal S. Ma-glegby Ma-glegby and Sons, Richfield. Edwin Beryl Shurtz !
