Show Gail C. Bailey ESCALANTE Gail C. Bailey, Bai-ley, 93, of Escalante passed away peacefully Sept. 10, 1997 in Provo, Utah. He was born Nov. 26, 1904, in Escalante to Charles William and Mary Alice Shurtz ; Bailey. He married Reva Peterson Peter-son May 1, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death, May 12, 1965. Gail was a life time cattle rancher. He loved and enjoyed being a father and grandfather and had a great testimony of the gospel. gos-pel. He served in the Northern States Mission in 1926-28. He is survived by sons, McKay Bailey of Escalante, Ter-rill Ter-rill (Coleen) Bailey of Las Vegas, Ve-gas, NV; daughters, Elaine Shurtz (Dean) Knox; Sandra (Bob Lynn) Porter both of Arizona; Gloria (McKay) Winkel of Provo; 19 grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Houston, Delia Christiansen, Faye Fields; brother, Pratt Gates. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Reva; a brother, Hugh Bailey, a sister, Helen Schow; a daughter-in-law, La-Fay La-Fay e Bailey; and granddaughters, granddaugh-ters, Launi Bailey and Melanie Porter. Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at the Escalante Stake Center in Escalante, with Bishop Marc McLemore presiding. The family prayer was given by Bobby Lynn Porter, a son-in-law and prelude and postlude music mu-sic was provided by Dawn Griffin, a sister-in-law. The invocation was offered by Christina Shurtz, Elaine's daughter; daugh-ter; a musical selection was performed per-formed by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, "I Feel My Savior's Love," with string accompaniment ac-companiment by Maria Call and Elizabeth Winkel, Gloria's daughters. daugh-ters. A history and tribute was presented by Sandra Porter and Gloria Winkel, daughters. MjMkt Urn, Gail C. Bailey A vocal duet was sung by Teresa Ter-esa LeSueur and Brent Porter, Sandra's children, "Greater Love," and a tribute was offered by Alan Bailey, McKay's son. A musical selection was sung by Maria Call and Elizabeth Winkel, Gloria's daughters, "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing," and memories of grandpa Bailey were given by family members. Remarks were made by Bishop Marc McLemore followed by a vocal selection was by Terry Clark, Terrill's daughter, "How Great Thou Art." The benediction was offered by Janna. Winkel, Gloria's daughter. Pallbearers were grandsons Scott Bailey, Warren F. Winkel, Alan Bailey, Brent Porter, McKay H. Winkel, Stuart Bailey, Travis Porter, and Gavin B. Winkel. Interment was in the Escalante Cemetery. The grave was dedicated dedi-cated by Stuart Bailey, McKay's son. Compassionate service were rendered by the Escalante 1st Ward Relief Society sisters. Funeral directors: Neal S.
