Ule wm born at Now Harniony. Washington County, a son of George W. and Phcobe Meilnda Butler Sevy. When he wm 1, the family moved to Pangultch, where he attended public schools. At 21 he wm elected as aherlfr of (larfleld County, later resigning to become a member of the first assembly of the Slate legislature. For 16 years he -served as a member of the city council and ' tilso served two terms as' mayor of Pangultch. He nerved as u member of the legal advisory hoard or Garfield County In the Selective Service during World War I. He prided himself on the Merino sheep he raised. !0n Nov. 16, 1886. he married Sarah E. Crosby at St, George. She died In Oct. 1899. On Nov. A,' 1900, he married Amy Clark nt! Pangultch. Survivors Include his widow; C Vons. T. Frank, Maine and Albert Sevy, all of Pangultch, Wendell and Dr. V. M. Sevy. both of Salt Lake City; 4 daughters, Mrs. E.i D( Pauline) Clark, Proro; Mis. W. E. (Dean) Blackburn. Albuquerque, N. M.; Mrs. Ler Grande (Artots) Dykeman, Salt Lake. City, and Mrs. Mary Henrle, Pangultch; several half-brothere and slaters In Arizona and Mexico; 39 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Funeral seniles were conducted Tuesday In the North Ward Chapel with Bishop N. O. Henrle officiating.
