The citizens for making a safe walkway to Bryce Valley Schools has a goal to build that sidewalk from the highway up to eht corner of Bryce Way and 50 South. As it is now the kids have to walk up this street and share the roadway with the vehicles that drive on it. In the winter with all the snow we have had it has become very hazardous to these students. We really don't want our children playing "chicken" with cars nor cars with each other. We rather it be a safe route for all. They know it is going to cost a lot of money to get this walk made but hope to do it block by block segments so the task doesn't seem so daunting. With the money they earned on the quilt and rifle drawing held in December the now have enough money to cement a half block already! Doesn't sound like a lot but it is a beginning. We want to congratulate Sharol Pollock on winning the quilt and Hayden Roberts on winning the rifle. If you would like to donate to the sidewalk project, there are donation boxes at Bryce Valley area businesses. You will be surprised at how quickly even a few coins can add up! Or you may buy a 3' x 4' sqare of sidewalk for $50.00. Your name will be imprinted on the square in honor of your donation if you would like or whatever you want to have inscribed. Or you can send donations to "The Safe Sidewalk Fund, c/o of Annette Chynoweth, P.O. Box 42, Tropic, Ut. 84776. Remember "No mountain is too tall to climb if the first step is belief in oneself!" Our kids are worth this project and they are counting on us to take care of their safety. Thank you to all who have contributed so far to this project. A beautiful blue-eyed boy joined the Parson family Tuesday night. John Bigelow Parsons arrived a few minutes before midnight and parents Mary and John, Sr. couldn't be prouder. "I'm so proud. He is the most beautiful boy I've ever seen and combines our best features," laughed Mary. Adoring Father, John, Sr. agreed, adding that he's just as proud of Mary having given up smoking 9 months prior.
