Show Page 3 MARCH 8,2007 T H E GARFIELD COUNTY INSIDER Cathy Jo LeFevre Cathy Jo Jones LeFevre, 47 passed away February 26, 2007 in Panguitch, Utah. She was born November 20,1959 in Los Angeles, CA to Curtis James and Linda Lu Burgard Jones. She married Troy Glander in Glendale, CA and were later divorced. She married Claude LeFevre in Las Vegas, NV and were later divorced. She is survived by her children, Laura (Andy) Anderson, Michael Allen, Nicole (Noah) Harris, Amber Burrows, Tina LeFevre and Tammy LeFevre; 18 grandchildren; father, Curtis; brothers and sister, David Jones, Garrett Jones, Terri Thorton Davis; grandmother, Dorothy Burgard. She is preceded in death by her mother Linda; grandfather, Carl Burgard, Sr. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 3,2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Panguitch 2nd LDS Ward Chapel 159 North 400 East in Panguitch. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made at any Zion's Bank in Cathy Jo's name to help with final expenses. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti OBITUARIES Mary Spencer Griffin Cloyd J . Sorensen, Jr. Cloyd J. Sorensen, Jr., of Panguitch, Utah, passed away March 2, 2007, in Panguitch. He was born to Cloyd J. And Mabel Adams Sorensen, on December 21, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He retired as the Director of Pharmacy and Materials Management at Garfield Memorial Hospital in the fall of 1991 and remained in Panguitch for retirement. He graduated from the University of Utah five years in Pharmacy with high honors in 1953. He immediately moved to California where he worked mainly as Director of Pharmacy and hospital consultant for 20 years for a prestigious hospital. He also did surgical photography and the hospital's public relations on a separate contract. He resigned his position to attend graduate school at the University of Arizona where he received his Masters Degree in Hospital Pharmacy Administration and Systems Engineering. He then went to work doing photography and historical interpretation for environmental studies. He then worked more than 10 years as an undercover agent for the U.S. Treasury Intelligence and finally went to work in Panguitch. He was fairly well-known part time outdoor writer and photographer with several hundred magazine articles, including international exposure. He can be credited with a number of magazine covers and commercial ads and four books. One book in the Mexican War Battle of San Pasqual in San Diego County represents over 30 years of research. He was a member of a number of historical and archeological societies. He was the founder and charter president of the affluent Vista Ranchos Historical Society in San Diego County. He collected glass trade beads and other Western Americana and was considered world wide as an expert on glass trade beads. A number of museums proudly display some of his rare items. He was elected to be an active member of the exclusive Outdoor Writers Association of American and -a PTA President. Mary Spencer Griffin, of Escalante, passed away February 27, 2007, at her home. She was bom on July 21, 1923 in Escalante, to George and Jospehine Bailey Spencer. She married LaVem Griffin on September 8, 1945, in Las Vegas Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized on August 2, 1978 in the St. George LDS Temple, He preceded her in death on September 1, 1999. She is survived by her son, Elden (Angie) Griffin, Escalante; daughter, Jolyn (Jim) Spencer, Orem; brother-in law, Clem (Joyce) Qriffin, Escalante; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and He is survived by his daughters, Christine Young and Suzanne Hodson, CA; 12 great-great grandchildren. nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
