Our Brace Caboose is now making life easier for our patients in outlying communities: Beaver, Bicknell, Circleville, Delta, Ephraim, Fill more, Gunnison, Mahti, Mil ford, Junction, Monroe and Salina. On days we're in the mobile office, our office phone, is forwarded to us, so we can still be reached. 1-388-BRACEME Richfield, UT In Cedar city today, the current motel tax is 9.1%. In St. George, the current motel tax is 9.0%. St. George is already #5 in nation. If the Garfield County Commission increases the motel tax rate at the proposed 1.25% in Panguitch, the total will now be at 12.25%. (This is unheard of even in a booming economy). The Panguitch City Council should stop this madness. I, as well as many others, wonder about possible hidden angles in passing this tax increase. I will spread some more light on the issue. There is a saying that states, "As long as butter spills in rice, it's okay." -1 understand that there are many people in Garfield county who feed on County government jobs (directly or indirectly). For them this increase will be a little to swallow to get big enchilada. Everyone needs to remember that the county commissioners are elected positions. Putting such investment in property taxes can lead to the political chair's stability. Traveling people do not vote, and Motel and Restaurant owners are a minority in numbers. Our County Commission has right to put a toll booth on the road leading to entrance of Bryce. This can be most effective (as done at other parks) and takes the negativity away from businesses. What is Panguitch City's position on this? Lets discuss and let the people have a,chance to evaluate the Panguitch city council and Panguitch City Economic Development and their motives. In 2002, here is a list of federal funds spent in Utah Counties: mit, they may buy a bull elk or hunter's choice permit. Permits not taken in this year's Antlerless Draw will be available Aug. 2 from more than 300 hunting license agents statewide and the Division of W ildlife Resources' six offices. The DW R offices will open at 8 a.m. that morning. Hunting license agents will open their doors during their regular business hours, so the hours they open will vary. "I would encourage hunters to contact their nearest license agent, to learn when they'll open for business that day," Tutorow said. Tutorow says hunters may have two elk permits in any of the following combinations: • One bull elk permit and one cow elk permit; • Two cow elk permits; or, • One hunter's choice permit and one cow elk permit. Hunters may NOT obtain two bull elk permits, or a bull elk and hunter's choice permit.
