The students completed service projects in different star event categories. They began their projects in late September of 2005 and finished them in March of 2006; All nine students placed first in their categories at the state competition in April, this gave them the opportunity to represent the state at nationals. At nationals the students joined thousands of other middle school and high school students from around the nation. They presented their projects to judges using the FCCLA Planning Process. They represented Utah, their community, their school, and themselves very well. Those who participated were, Annie Frandsen and Brittney Frandsen, competing in Interpersonal Communication Senior Division, focusing on dating and values, Tanielle Tebbs and Nicole Matthew competing in Applied Technology where they focused on Autism, Chelsie Barney and Raigan Hatch competing in National Programs in Action, focusing on The Peer Refusal Skill, and Kesley Matthew, Shelby Pollock, and Taelyr Tebbs competing in Interpersonal Communications Junior Division, focusing on the importance of learning family traditions and strengthening relationships with their grandparents. This was a great learning experience for all of the girls. They, along with their advisor, Tammi Bennett, would like to thank all of the individuals and organizations that made the trip possible. A special thanks to, WEATHER the Panguitch Lions Club, Panguitch City, Garfield EUc School District CTE (Brent Judd), The State FCCLA F.n. 74°F Organization, The Education Foundation (Jeanne Whalen), and our wonder75°F Sop 30 ful, supportive parents!
