TOOELE LOCAL GOSSIP CHURCH NEWS This section will be only for residents of Wendover and the following communities: IBAPAH CALLAO COLDHILL KNOLLS MONTELLO OWL SPRINGS GROUSE CREEK TROUT CREEK At the present the NEWS does not have an office in Wendover. It is requested that all material be mailed to Box 345 Wendover, Utah 84083. To insure publication in each forcoming issue, a deadline date for each issue will be the 10th of each month. Wen-dove- Members of thg Ibapah Branch arc pictured at the reorganisation meeting on August LDS 1. Branch Reorganized af Ibapah At Ibapah Branch Conference on August 1, 1971, under direction of President Kenneth Johnson, the Ibapah Branch sustained a new presidency. It became necessary to release President Milton Bell so that he could move away to obtain work. Calk'd to fill this vacancy was President Rao Henry Bateman. He chose as his first counselor Victor Floyd Myers and the second counselor has not been chosen yet. On June 27,1971 Jay Hicks was installed as branch clerk under the direction of President Shirts. Rao Bateman is a rancher of Ibapah, Floyd Myers owns the Central Store in Ibapah and Jay Hicks is a rancher, also. A large congregation was present for conference in this small branch, and afterw ards the Relief Society served lunch to all. One of the highlights of the meeting was when a lamanite member, Florence Pete, had her twin daughters blessed. Ibapah 0 133 12 Changes Made in Wendover Bishopric Changes were made in the Wendover Ward Bishopric at the regular sacrament meeting held June 27, 1971 with Bishop Preston A. Nuffer conducting. President Kenneth C. Johnson of the Grantsville Stake presided at the meeting and made the following changes. Steven Lovell who was re leased as first counselor, will be moving to Blanding, where lie has accepted a position as Principal in a school outside of Blar.ding. Monte O. Hammond was released as second counselor, and sustained as first counselor to Bishop Nuffer. He with his wife lone and five children have been making their home in Wendover. He is employed by the FAA and came to Wendover from California. Arthur Richard Dixon was released as ward clerk and sustained as second counselor. Mr. Dixon and his wife Caren have been residents of Wendover for many years. They are the parents of three children. He owns and operates a motel, a drive in and is of the S&D Grocery and Dry Gocis Store. Don C. Lewis was sustained as ward clerk. He and Mrs. Lew is are the parents of five children. He is employed at the Kaiser Aluminum Chemical Corp. at Wendover. Mark V. Tnpp was retained as assistant ward clerk.
